A Cost Effective Topology Migration Path Towards Fibre
نویسنده
چکیده
If an operator has as starting position a Full Copper topology in which ADSL or VDSL is offered from the Central Office, the next choice he has to make is to provide Full FttH or use another topology option, e.g. FttCab, first as intermediate step to provide a next generation service package. In this paper we present a gradual topology migration path from Full Copper via FttCab and Hybrid FttH towards Full FttH. We look at the planning issues of this topology migration and the financial impact in comparison to the direct FttH roll-out. For this we present a case study in which we compare the costs of the presented gradual topology migration path to the alternative Full FttH direct option.

Scalable Service Migration: The Tree Topology Case
Scalable service placement is a challenging problem in dynamic environments such as ad hoc or autonomic networks. Existing approaches typically consider static and reduced size networking environments and try to determine the optimal service position (the node at which some cost is minimized) by solving the 1median problem. Since such approaches are complex and are based on global information k...

متن کاملA Cost-Effective Dynamic Content Migration Method in CDNs
Content Distribution Networks (CDNs) are highly advanced features for the Internet, and provide low latency, scalability, fault tolerance, and load balancing. One of the most important issues to realize these advantages of CDNs is to consider dynamic content allocation to deal with temporal load fluctuation. The dynamic content allocation provides mirroring of contents in order to distribute us...
متن کاملFibre to the Home/Fibre to the Premises: what, where, and when?
After conquering the core and metropolitan networks, fibre is now penetrating into the access domain. Its low loss and huge bandwidth enable the delivery of any present and foreseeable set of broadband services, and also make it a nice match to the wireless link to the end user. Cost effectiveness is a key issue, and will be decisive for the network topology choices. Point-to-point may be the m...
متن کاملEvaluating the Sintering Temperature Control Towards the Adsorptivity of Ammonia onto the Natural Zeolite Based Hollow Fibre Ceramic Membrane
The disproportionate quantity of ammonia presence in water has led to serious drinkable water scarcity worldwide. The abundant source of mineral and superior cations selectivity has made natural zeolite as a good adsorbent for the ammonia removal. This work aims to fabricate natural zeolite based hollow fibre ceramic membrane (HFCM) via extrusion based phase inversion and sintering techniques f...
